FAQ SECTION:

1. What do all the different lens options mean?
The focal length of the lens determines the field of view you will have on your screen. The lower the focal length the wider the field of view. A wider lens will give you a bigger area in your frame at the expense of having to fly closer in to an object if closer inspection is needed. A tighter focal length will give you more reach (great for inspections etc) at the expense of not being able to scan an area as quickly as you could with a wider field of view. See chart below for field of view angles.
2. What are the most common focal lengths people buy?
The two most popular focal lengths are the 9mm and the 13mm, with the 19mm not far behind (see below for popular versions of the XT).
3. Where can I find the manual for the XT camera?
For the most up-to-date version please click here.
4. What is the difference between the "Performance" and the "Advanced Radiometric" versions of the XT camera?
The Performance version of the XT camera is excellent for viewing relative temperature differences (eg. Showing what is hot in a scene and what is cool, great for search and rescue). If you are a Thermographer doing precise inspections or require absolute temperature values you should consider the Advanced Radiometric version of the XT camera. For mapping applications you will also want the Advanced Radiometric version, as the stitching software will require precise metadata to generate an accurate map.
